Meditation Essentials for Beginners


Lately I’ve been asked if there were any items that I simply could not live without when it comes to meditation. As a beginner, I struggled to focus and quiet my mind during meditation sessions. Through trial and error, I was able to find and even develop a few products that worked perfectly to assist with quieting my boisterous mind and keeping it focused on my meditation goals.


Tiger Balm- Tiger Balm is an ointment traditionally used for pain relief. Many, including myself, find it useful to apply a small amount to the center of the forehead (3rd eye) during meditation sessions. The cooling sensation along with its distinctive scent provides a focal point for those of us who tend to have wandering minds.


Serenity House’s Aura Cleansing Mist- Serenity House’s Aura Cleansing Mist is a product that I personally developed to cleanse and purify my surroundings instantly. It was created out of my need to sage my surroundings while in public. I am able to use it instead of sage or palo santo in places where I am unable to perform a traditional smudge session. Copper- Copper is by far the best conductor of spiritual energy. It helps to balance and harmonize the chakras by bouncing positive energy throughout the body. Meditating under a copper pyramid is by far the best way to transform your meditation sessions. However, not everyone owns a meditation pyramid. Wearing one or a few copper bracelets will also enhance and uplift your spiritual energy.


Pillow or poof- Comfort is also a necessity when planning a successful meditation session. A variety of pillows offering different levels of support and cushion are available for purchase. I find that using a memory foam pillow for lower back support allows me to remain in a meditative state much longer while experiencing fewer interruptions related to discomfort.
