What is Journaling?
For some, journaling may simply be writing your feelings down in a journal. For me, journaling is so much more than that. It is an avenue of self-expression. My journal is a vortex of completely privacy where I can express my deepest thoughts, concerns and dreams. I am completely safe there. Safe from judgement and safe from being misunderstood.
How Can Journaling Help Me?
Completing journal entries gives you the opportunity to be yourself, declutter your brain and show your creativity. We all know that the mind is often a busy place. Placing your thoughts on the pages of a journal allows you to clear out some space in your mind while giving those thoughts a new home in the process.
I always find it beneficial to journal right after both stressful and happy situations because it helps you to remember your feelings while they are fresh on your mind. These are the moments that they are the most vibrant and memorable.
Creativity is also sparked through journal entries. Periodically, I like to challenge myself by coming up with a completely off the wall journal topic that requires me to really think outside of the box. I have created so many potential novels, movies and poems through journal entries.
